KZ sta davvero diventando wireless e il VXS è un inizio incredibile per la loro vera esperienza di auricolari wireless.

I KZ VXS sono un'esperienza di ascolto sorprendente in un pacchetto conveniente. Il suono è impressionante e non posso credere che suonino così bene per questo prezzo. L'estremità inferiore è piena e ricca, mentre i medi e gli alti hanno molta voce in capitolo su ciò che ascolti.

Sono sempre stato colpito dal loro buon uso di driver ad armatura bilanciata, a volte ibridi e, più recentemente, driver dinamici ed elettrostatici in formato tribrido.

Nel complesso, hanno un prezzo molto conveniente per quello che sono.

KZ mi ha contattato e mi ha detto:"Ehi, ti piacerebbe provare il nuovo KZ VXS?".

Io, ovviamente, ero molto eccitato. Avevo fatto le cuffie A10 con cancellazione attiva del rumore che avevano rilasciato alcuni mesi fa, che non erano particolarmente impressionanti, ma erano abbastanza buone per il prezzo.

E così, quando sono arrivati ​​i VXS, mi aspettavo che fossero di una qualità simile.

Ragazzi, mi sono sbagliato?

Come ho detto, in realtà ho avuto difficoltà a togliermeli dalle orecchie perché mi sono divertito così tanto.

Ma prima di diventare lirico su quanto siano incredibili, esaminiamo tutte le specifiche e i dettagli in modo da sapere in cosa ti stai cacciando per il prezzo.

Prime impressioni del KZ VXS

In termini di prime impressioni, il case e la confezione sono davvero fantastici. KZ non dedica mai molto tempo a strafare con l'imballaggio, cosa che apprezzo.

Potrebbe essere un po' più rispettoso dell'ambiente, ma non è mai più grande di quanto dovrebbe essere.

All'interno della confezione VXS, c'è:

• KZ VXS con custodia di ricarica
• un cavo di ricarica USB-C
• due set di ricambio di silicone per le orecchie, piccolo e grande. I mezzi sono premontati
• una scheda di garanzia del prodotto e la scheda informativa, che ti guida attraverso come adattarli al meglio, come accoppiarli e come utilizzare le operazioni toccando l'esterno di ciascun auricolare.

La custodia stessa è una bella, piccola unità rotonda con un coperchio trasparente.

Puoi vedere il VXS in situ mentre si sta caricando. C'è una chiara visualizzazione di come ogni auricolare viene caricato in base al suo colore e hai anche un bel LED colorato, che ti dice lo stato di carica della custodia stessa.

Concorso?

Non c'è dubbio che c'è un mercato saturo quando si tratta di auricolari true wireless.

Di recente ho realizzato HiTune X6 di UGREEN, che è stato fantastico. I Donner Dobuds One erano particolarmente buoni. L'xFyro che potrei lasciare alle spalle. Gli auricolari da gioco Black Shark erano fantastici, tranne per il fatto che non avevano controlli touch all'esterno.

Con il KZ VXS, mi aspettavo che avrebbero avuto la stessa qualità della fascia alta di queste unità.

Solo i Donner Dobuds One competono ma come unità ANC sono una bestia diversa.

Qualità costruttiva e custodia

La qualità costruttiva è molto buono. KZ ha imparato l'arte di scolpire gli stampi per i monitor in-ear.

Guardando questi nella custodia, mi aspettavo che questi non solo avrebbero avuto un bell'aspetto, ma si sarebbero adattati bene.

In genere, con KZ, mi aspettavo che l'ugello dell'auricolare fosse un po' più lungo di quanto vorrei, ma immagino che debbano soddisfare tutte le orecchie.

Il case in sé è davvero piuttosto leggero, ma non penso che sia necessariamente un riflesso della qualità.

Non è una custodia di ricarica wireless, ma non è un grosso problema per me, dato che mi sembra di avere una miriade di cavi USB-C.

Quello che mi piace della custodia sono gli stati di ricarica dei LED.

Se il caso stesso è:

• tra 0% e 30%, la luce del LED è rossa
• tra il 30% e il 70%, la luce del LED diventa arancione
• Se supera il limite del 70%, diventa verde.

Penso che questo sia particolarmente fantastico. Mentre alcune custodie di ricarica hanno un LED o hanno tre o quattro punti che si accendono, a seconda dello stato di ricarica. È un bel cambiamento avere una codifica a colori su quella ricarica in modo da sapere esattamente dove si trova quella custodia.

Gli auricolari stessi, con la custodia trasparente sulla parte superiore, riflettono anche il loro stato di carica che passa dal rosso quando devono essere caricati e cambiano in un bel blu, una volta caricati, in modo da sapere che sei a posto.

Le impressioni complessive con la custodia, gli auricolari e la qualità costruttiva sono state mentre si sentivano leggeri, è un pacchetto davvero carino e ben assemblato e le dimensioni della custodia sono particolarmente interessanti.

È quasi un caso che ti aspetteresti con orecchini di diamanti o gemelli.

Specifiche tecniche del KZ VXS

Ha un driver dinamico da 10 mm in ogni auricolare.

Ha un Qualcomm QCC3040 integralo con Bluetooth 5.2. Ciò significa che è certificato aptX, il che significa che può eseguire audio fino a 16 bit e 24 bit a 48 kHz.

Per le telefonate, hai un CVC impostare dove CVC significa semplicemente acquisizione vocale chiara , progettato per ridurre il rumore esterno per le tue telefonate.

Ci sono due modalità su di esso, che puoi cambiare toccando l'esterno dell'unità.

Uno è come una modalità a piena potenza e uno è una modalità di gioco in modo da regolare la latenza.

La durata della batteria è di circa quattro o cinque ore e con il caricatore, puoi ottenere da 20 a 25 ore circa. Direi più vicino a 25 con la batteria di grande capacità da 400 mAh.

Vestibilità e comfort per il VXS

Il comfort su questi all'inizio per me è stato un po' difficile.

Mi sono reso conto di aver inventato un sacco di cose e di aver effettivamente messo l'auricolare sbagliato nelle orecchie sbagliate, il che è un errore da principiante per qualcuno che fa tante recensioni di monitor in-ear e possiede altrettanti monitor in-ear , come faccio io.

Una volta corretto questo stupido errore, sono riuscito a ottenere un bel sigillo che pensavo fosse abbastanza decente e ho iniziato a visualizzare in anteprima la musica con loro.

Ho sentito che il basso era pieno e forte, ma dopo un ulteriore ritocco, ho scoperto che potevo effettivamente ottenere bassi ancora più ricchi ottenendo un adattamento ancora migliore.

Quindi, incoraggio chiunque riceva questi ad assicurarsi di avere un bel sigillo chiuso da ogni auricolare, anche se hai esperienza con gli IEM.

L'ho sempre paragonato alla sensazione di essere completamente sott'acqua, quando hai quella tenuta perfetta, e che non puoi davvero sentire nulla all'esterno, e il mondo intero sembra piuttosto attutito.

Anche se sporgono un po' più in là di quanto vorrei, è importante ricordare che questi non sono monitor in-ear personalizzati e devono consentire diverse dimensioni di orecchie e canali uditivi.

Una volta montate e sigillate, sono rimaste al loro posto molto bene, e io gli ho scosso bene la testa e ho saltato per vedere se potevo spostarle, ma erano molto ben a posto e non sono cadute.

Qualità del suono

Quando ho introdotto questo, sono rimasto molto colpito. Ma non inizialmente, mi ci è voluto un po' di tempo per ottenere quel posto prima che iniziassi davvero ad apprezzare ciò che avevano da offrire.

Bassi

L'estremità inferiore di questi è enorme per un driver dinamico da 10 mm. Non è particolarmente stretto, ma è stretto in alcune aree. The sub-bass is full and round, but quite warm and soft, whereas the core-base and upper-base where you start to reach the lower mids, starts to feel a lot tighter and really full.

Overall, the bass on these was quite rich, and I want to say detailed. It had characteristics and personality to it.

It wasn’t a single tone or just a highly tuned, fat, blob coming at you, it had refindement to it.

This is very impressive for the price that these are retailing at.

Mezzi

The mids are great as well. Being a guy that really loves vocal and being a guitarist, and wanting to hear those middle frequencies, it always disappoints me when a V-shaped IEM sucks all of the quality of the vocals guitars, and keys out.

With these, they were definitely there. They could be a little bit crisper, they sat slightly back, but not really enough that I would wanna criticize them at all. They are more forward than most other KZ IEMs.

The thing that let the mids shine, despite that lack of crispness, is that the sound stage lets them sit there on their own, in their own space, allowing you to isolate them out with your hearing really quite easily.

Overall though, it’s a full sound that comes at you with no particular frequency lacking.

Alti

Treble is also very much there and represents itself very well. There is separation from the mids, but there is that connectivity as well so that you are hearing those high sounds that are coming off symbols and coming off the really high-end of those frequency ranges, but it’s not especially overwhelming or fatiguing at any point.

Sfondo sonoro

The sound stage is really impressive. It’s so open.

There’s so much space and air in it, that it feels really quite natural, almost hi-fi level separation with that stereo feel.

And the way the instruments move around, exactly the way the mixing and mastering engineers wanted them to is really great.

I think even people who are experienced headphone and audio lovers, audiophiles globally, will even say that they are finding some of the stereo and soundstage movement new for them compared to a lot of the other things that they may have used in the past.

I know that’s a bold statement, but I do feel that it’s probably true.

There’s a remix out, “Moth To A Flame.” Swedish House Mafia, “Moth To A Flame” with Adriatique and The Weekend, and that’s a great track to try out with these.

The deep thumping dance, bottom-end, the clear separation, the vocals, and all the elements that bounce around, it’s a really great track for these.

Then switching to M.I.A from SOHN, which has this electronic thumping, slapping bass kick, that starts the song, which is so full and rich. Again, ensuring you’ve got a good seal.

The high tomson the drumkit that he uses in the song sounds so acoustic and nice and natural. That’s another good example of that full bottom-end.

Moving over to some rock with .alt, their track, “insubordinate” is an absolute banger.

I think this is particularly well mixed for a rock song, but these definitely enhance that impressive studio engineering with tight thumping bass, guitars, vocals, everything singing together and pushing forward while still having some space and nice sound stage around them.

“Natural Born Killer” by Highly Suspect. I always find their tracks bring a really nice freshness to the vocal and guitar mix. So, I always like to throw them on to try out rock, in general. This track has a deep pad underneath it which is just huge. And while the vocals could be a little bit brighter and more forward, it’s another good example of how great these sound.

Finishing out with a little bit of hip-hop with NF and Eminem spitting on the mic, the KZ VXS handled these massive tracks with ease.

Again, it’s really hard to criticize these, not just for the price, but they just sound fantastic.

The bottom-end of these is just constantly surprising me and making me smile.

PRAT

PRAT being, P ace, R hythm a nd T iming, really for me is defined as whether the music, you feel it, whether it moves you, whether everything is moving so tight in sync, that it just feels right.

The true-wireless KZ VXS definitely do that for me.

I actually want to just keep listening, and keep listening, and keep demoing them over, and over, and over because I just think they sound so good.

If you put a $300 – $500 price tag on these, I’d line up for them. In a blind listening test, I think they’d shine.

I don’t care what anyone else says, I’m a fan and that is just my personal opinion on how much I am enjoying these.

When I did the Donner Dobuds One, they were really stand out for me, their bottom-end, the ability to tune them with the app, they were superb, and I really started to feel like my Apple AirPods Pro were losing ground to these more affordable units.

The KZ VXS, for me, is probably gonna be my pickup to go from now on. They don’t have the active noise canceling, but the natural sound isolation is that good, I’m not really bothered. And once the music’s playing, I’m all smiles.

I’d go so far to say these are the best budget TWS IEMs for 2022 and the Donner Dobuds One the best TWS ANC earbuds for 2022.

Suited to what genres?

Normally with budget, in-ear monitors, or budget true-wireless sets, I end up recommending them to people who like certain genres.

With the KZ VXS, I’ve had difficulty finding a genre that they don’t do well with. And for that reason, I really could recommend them to anybody anywhere and may even buy these as gifts for people who are in my family and friends circle.

What’s the verdict?

At around $59, and I expect that you’ll probably be able to get them for a discount here and there, the hi-fi experience of these budget, true-wireless earbuds is really way above its pay grade.

I know I sound like an absolute fanboy, and I promise you I’m not getting paid for this review, but I really am impressed with what KZ have done with this launch into the market of a wireless unit.
